Sarah grew up in Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She continued her education at East Tennessee State University where she met her husband J. D. and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary as a Master of Divinity student. She served as the Preschool Department Director at First Baptist Church in Laredo, Texas as well as a Maestro-level Kindermusik educator before moving to Clayton in 2007. After volunteering in children’s ministries at The River for three years, she was called to be the Children’s Pastor in January 2012.
Sarah‘s passion is sharing Jesus with children and their families. She and her husband J.D. have three children of their own: Noah (2003), Micah Grace (2008), and Asher (2012). Their full house also includes a couple of lazy cats, an elderly basset hound, and a box turtle named Ella. In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, hockey, discovering new music, and traveling with her family.
